Shania Twain was born Eilleen Regina Edwards in Ontario, Canada. Twain's childhood was challenging, marked by financial troubles and family difficulties, including witnessing domestic conflicts and experiencing periods of homelessness. At 21, she moved to Toronto to pursue music professionally, but her parents tragic death in a car accident forced her to return home to care for her siblings, putting her career on hold. In 1997 she released her third studio album "Come on Over." It became one of the best selling albums of all time. In 2004 she entered a hiatus due to a diagnosis of Lyme disease and dysphonia which weakened her voice. To date she has sold over 100 million records worldwide, making her one of the best selling music artists of all time and the best selling female country music artist in country music history.
