The 1944 popular song "Just a Little Fond Affection" was written by the songwriting trio Elton Box, Desmond Cox, and Lewis Ilda Popularized during the 1940s by Big Bands and vocalists including Sammy Kaye, Gene Krupa (vocal by Buddy Stewart), and Issy Bonn. This was a popular Big Band Era song in the Dance Halls of the Okanagan in the Post War years. My father and the Jive Five filled the halls with cheerful songs. "Mister and Mississippi" was written by songwriter Irving Gordon. It was published in 1951 and first recorded by Tennessee Ernie Ford, followed quickly by a major hit version by Patti Page. I've always loved this tune. Backed by superb stereo orchestration from Glenn Osser, Jerry Vale does a crisp, light, happy-go-lucky version of this popular song. "Peg o' My Heart" was written in 1912 by Alfred Bryan (words) and Fred Fisher (music). The dance scene is from the 1950 film, "Three Little Words" starring Vera Ellen and Fred Astaire. The man at the piano is Red Skelton. My father sang this song so well, I hear him in my mind when this song plays. Have you heard this song "Peg o'My Heart" before?

Bonus: "Three Little Words" (1950) Song-and-dance man Bert Kalmar can't continue his stage career after an injury for a while, so he has to earn his money as a lyricist. Perchance he meets composer Harry Ruby and their first song is a hit. Ruby gets Kalmar to marry is former partner Jessie Brown, and Kalmar and Jessie prevent Ruby from getting married to the wrong girls. But due to the fact that Ruby has caused a backer's withdrawal for a Kalmar play, they end their relationship. A very young Debbie Reynolds has a small role - "Boo boo be doop" This is one of my All Time Favorite Musicals full of great songs. My father played many of them for me.
