There's little doubt playwright William Shakespeare's audiences were not unlike those of today. Folk still like comedy, tragedy, romance, fantasy, history, politics, not to mention the random dirty joke. Below are a few from the bard. The question is a simple yes or no would these still seem "dirty" by today's standards?

Hamlet - (Act 3, scene 2) HAMLET: "Lady, shall I lie in your lap? OPHELIA: No, my lord. HAMLET: I mean, my head upon your lap?OPHELIA: Ay, my lord. HAMLET: Do you think I meant country matters? OPHELIA: I think nothing, my lord. HAMLET: That's a fair thought to lie between maids' legs. OPHELIA: What is, my lord? HAMLET: Nothing." Pretty self explanatory the suggestiveness here. Sill dirty by today's standards?

Titus Andronicus - (Act 4, scene 2) CHIRON: "Thou hast undone our mother. AARON: Villain, I have done thy mother." Yeppers, even back in Shakespeare's day there were "Yo mamma" jokes. Maybe more offensive than dirty, but still work today?
