Chess had its stage debut in London’s West End in 1986. Prior to that had been a 1984 concept album by Benny Anderson and Björn Ulvaeus (music), with Tim Rice the lyrics. "Everybody's playing the game, but nobody's rules are the same..."

One Night in Bangkok - got radio play for a while, introduces the the Arbiter we'll see more of later and thoughts of where he currently is. Never been there myself, but stumbled on this vid that gives the vibe. Ever visit a place "what happens there, stays there"?

Florence - second to the American who she's had it with. Finds herself drawn to the Russian who wants to defect, and wonders who's side she is on. "Nobody's Side" is my fave tune of the musical. Ever been in a relationship / situation you felt this? Better off on your own?
