Theater/Ballet
A stage musical with music by Andrew Lloyd Weber, lyrics Richard Stilgoe. Opened in London in 1984 then Broadway 1987. Never seen live, but the production seems more appealing than some of the tunes. Welcome to the world of trains...

Premise - Got a group of train engines and cars who for some odd reason get into races when the voice of "control" says the time for. This is the opening tune with Greaseball, a deiseal engine. Ever known a person who thought they were the "bigshot"?

Rusty - our "hero", a steam engine trying to be relevant when diesel and electric the thing. Got a thing for Pearl we'll meet in a bit. Ever own a vehicle to the point doesn't look great, but still "got it where it counts" as Han Solo would say?

Pearl - an observation car who is a "brand new girl" and wants to find the best engine to give her "locomotion". While I get the passenger car premise needing an engine to pull it, there's a weird male / female aspect. Do women really require a guy to give "locomotion"?
