In TV land, it is not uncommon for a television character to mysteriously disappear, never to be heard from again. We're not talking about characters being written out of shows like 87 cast members from "ER" or even when Jonathan Taylor Thomas left "Home Improvement" to travel abroad. What we are talking about are the mysterious disappearances that are never really referenced again. No explanation, no farewell. One of the most famous "disappearing acts" happened on "Happy Days" back in the beginning of the second season. Richie and Joanie Cunningham had a brother, Chuck, who just disappeared. It was explained that he went off to college, but after that, the family never mentioned him again. Interestingly enough this phenomenon of disappearing cast members has come to be known as "Chuck Cunningham Syndrome". Do you remember seeing big brother Chuck on "Happy Days"?

And like many before her, Tina was never addressed again, while Donna seemed to adjust to being an only child pretty quickly.

Parks and Recreation famously updated audiences on the most obscure of characters, leaving no story left untold. But for some reason Mark Brendanawicz, the city planner and love interest of both Ann and Leslie in the early seasons, is one of the few characters to disappear and never come back.

Judy Winslow was the poor, forgotten younger daughter of the Winslow family on Family Matters. But budget cuts and the rise of the more popular character of Urkel meant that Judy was axed after four seasons. Moreover, not only was the 13-year-old never seen from again, but her on-screen parents actually seemed to forget that she ever existed. In fact, they later claimed to only have two children!
