In season two the male romantic lead is actor, Jonathan Bailey, who is an openly gay actor. Media have tried to stir debates about straight actors playing LBGTQ+ characters and vice versa. Bailey and Simone Ashley exhibited great chemistry & two people having a great time playing their roles. Despite the success Netflix is experiencing falling numbers in subscribers for various reasons, such as password sharing of subscribers & others.
