I was born in the late 70's and these shows were still airing when i grew up in the 80's. Is it a testament to their quality? Probably not, but i sure enjoyed them. Which of these have you heard of?
1. Tales of the Wizard of Oz. This one was created in 1961 by Crawley Films for Videotron which later became Rankin/Bass Productions (Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph cartoons). In this version the characters were given additional names like Dandy The Cowardly Lion, Rusty the Tin Man and Socrates the Scarecrow. Have you seen this?

2. The New Adventures of Pinocchio. This was a 1961 stop motion animated series produced by Rankin/Bass made in Japan. Seen this one?

3. The Mighty Hercules. This debuted in 1963 and ran until 1966. It featured Hercules and his centaur sidekick Newton who always called him Herc. Their foe was the evil Daedalus. Hercules would get his powers from a ring. Seen this one?

4. Underdog. This ran from 1964 to 1967 on NBC and CBS being sponsored by General Mills. Underdog was a shoeshine boy who becomes the heroic Underdog whenever his love Sweet Polly Purebread is threatened. Seen this one?
