Some years ago, I complimented a friend of mine on the motorcycle jacket he was wearing at the time...and he gave it to me. Have you ever complimented someone on a piece of clothing s/he was wearing at the time only to have that person give you it?

I don't know if my friend who gave me his motorcycle jacket ever owned or operated a motorcycle,. I'd not blame him for never having done either, as, when he was a child, his older brother died in a motorcycle accident, and a rather gruesome one at that. Have you ever refrained from an activity because a family member or someone to whom you were close died or was injured or disabled participating in the same activity?

Anyway, per that jacket again, I was grateful, and a bit flabbergasted, by my friend's generosity...but it took me a while to wear it regularly. It fit me fine, but 1) I initially had trouble negotiating its zipper, which at first felt to me a bit difficult to pull up, and 2)good as I thought the jacket looked on my friend, I wasn't sure it complimented me. Have you ever obtained--either by your own purchase, being gifted it, or however else--a piece of clothing you may have been glad to have, though it took you a while to warm up to it?

As may have been hinted at in the previous question, I've recently been wearing that jacket regularly...just as summer is ramping up, and warmer weather with it. Yet, I'm not yet finding too warm, even as temperatures by me are getting into the mid-70's Fahrenheit. If that seems odd, it's not to me because 1)I'm already in a habit of wearing long sleeves in warm weather to avoid trying to have to apply suncream, and 2)the inside of the jacket has thus far, for whatever reason, remained kind of cool. Do you often wear clothing that might at first seem inappropriate for the weather you're experiencing?

As this poll's title indicates, I have a motorcycle jacket but am without a motorcycle, nor so I foresee getting one any time soon (nor do I drive anyone else's). Is there any clothing you enjoy wearing that's designed for activity in which you don't participate?
