When I first saw the term ersonalized jewelry," its first word was capitalized, so I thought it's a brand name, like Individualized shirts. Silly me! It didn't take much research to discover that personalized jewelry is that which has no clasp by which to remove it; instead, the jewelry is welded together on the wearer's body, making it irremovable but by extraordinary force. Before reading this question, were you familiar with personalized jewelry?

Early on in my research of personized jewelry, I saw a picture of a welding apparatus working on someone's wrist and let out a little internal yelp. It looked dangerous but apparently isn't (at least when handled rightly); the welding equipment is similar to that used on things tiny as microchips. Be it for jewelry or anything else, have you trusted or would you trust someone welding near your skin?

If you have or considered getting perm' jewelry, have you thought about what you'd do if you gained so much weight that your jewelry would burst off your body (or cut off your circulation) or you lost so much that your jewelry? Yes, (and I've prepared for at least one of those hypotheticals)
