Upon seeing something that a friend of mine on another social media website posted about the subject at hand, I thought "Yep, that tracks with some of my Tellwut surveying brand!" Les anyone think I'm merely being sensational asking about this, here's an article from a well-trafficked website about it: https://science.howstuffworks.com/converting-human-waste-into-food-for-astronauts.htm

Since at least early 2018, scientists at Penn State University, and maybe elsewhere by now, have been working on--and maybe by now have mastered--a method whereby astronauts' solid waste can be converted to a nutritious edible paste. The point of doing so is not to be disgusting, for disgust's sake, but to save space for growing and/or storing food on whatever spacecraft would be used by astronauts on a weeks- or months-long mission, such as a trip to and from Mars. Space travelers are already accustomed to drinking water processed from their own liquid waste. so it shouldn't gross them out (much?). Were you previously aware of this mission to reuse what astronauts would otherwise flush on terra firma?

Other technologies developed for by astronauts, and the aerospace industry serving them, including edible items, have been adopted occasionally--if sometimes only temporarily--by the general public. But, would you be open to consuming anything edible devised by the tech' referenced in the previous question?
