Stroopwafels are sweet treats originating in the Nertherlands, comprised two of small waffles that are rounded into discs--looking like little manhole covers to my eyes--between which is a filling, historically, made with a base of beet sugar. Have you ever tasted a stroopwafel?

Stroopwafels described as biscuits. as they are in their Wikipwedia entry, I can appreciate; but, per this this poll's title, I can see them as cookies, or, perhaps candy, too. From your experience with stroopwafels, even it's only from this survey, what would you call them?

If you're wondering about the last descriptor I use in this survey's title regarding stroopwafels, one brand comes to mind, Rp Van's iteration of the treat contains 20+% of the recommended daily allowance of dietary fiber with only three grams of sugar per full- size serving (the company is also now selling mini-stroopwafel;s by the bagful, at least through Costco). I've had other brands of stroopwafels, but discovering Rip Van's 'wafels at my nearest gas station convenience store was a culinary revelation. Have you tried or would you try Rip Van's stroopwafels?
