Coney dog - is simply a hotdog topped with chili sauce, onion and mustard. My dad called them "gut busters" as filling and the chili / onions aspect. Obvious question, ever have a chili dog, Coney or not?

The place - Michigan Coney Island restaurants have no connection to the NY amusement park. This goes back to Greek immigrants, first such place 1914. Though not the healthiest chow, darn tasty. Such places sometimes called "greasy spoon". Do enjoy quick order flat top grill places with table service?

Lafayette / American - This pair next door to to each other across the street from the original Grand Trunk office my dad worked. Established by the Keros brothers, who had a bit of a rivalry. You may have seen on an episode of "Dinners, Drive-Ins and Dives". Any local family owned restaurants you like? Let us know in replies if you want.
