All the stuff the food bank gave me to post online posed some dilemmas for me. If I did a free food yard sale, putting it all out at a set time for people to come take what they want, it would be less work for me. But there are some down sides. Which of these would concern you?
One or two people might come and take all or most of it, week after week.

With the cost of gas, people might be frustrated if they drove all the way out here and there was nothing left that they could use.

None of these, it's not my problem, I'd be doing enough already just by passing it along and keeping it from being wasted.

I could do a yard sale and limit everyone to filling one bag. But the first person might swipe all of the most expensive things, like all the coffee, and just leave large boxes of sugary cereal or bags of chips that would fill half the bag for others. Then I had to face the reality that if I were in the same shoes, with the option to fill a bag with any items at a free sale, I would use the same strategy. I'd pick the items that would save me the most money. Are you torn between thinking you'd want to prevent that, and knowing you'd possibly do the same thing?
Yes, I might be a hypocrite on some level about this, judging others for something I'd do.

No, because it wouldn't bother me if one or two people took the best stuff; it's all the same to me.

I would make a point of just taking a small amount of the pricey stuff and leaving a lot of other people.

the pricey stuff I would put in a box next to me and limit one to person 0.14% 1
Food banks limit how much a person can take with them. You could do that, but you'll have to police it, as people go to any length to try to take more than what they should. 0.14% 1
Probably best to not put all the pricey things out at one time. 0.14% 1

I might would prepack some bags instead of allowing people to pick what they want 0.14% 1
I would create bags with the same products. 0.14% 1
Maybe try making the bags equal in cost. Don't put all good stuff in 1 bag. Spread out evenly. 0.14% 1
