A study of patients at the London Health Sciences Centre’s University Hospital on Ontario showed that arterial plaque build up in patients who ate three or more egg yolks a week was 2/3 the rate of regular smokers. The results were published in the journal Atherosclerosis on Monday August 13th. Basically egg yolks contain very high levels of cholesterol, which is almost as bad for your arteries as smoking cigarettes.
