Japanese amusement park Space World is making headlines for all the wrong reasons. The park froze 5,000 dead fish and placed them under a skating rink so that visitors would feel as though they were skating by the sea. The fish were used to spell out 'HELLO," as well as form a giant arrow, which upset many people after photos were shared online. Would this upset you?

The fish were already dead when they were purchased, since they were not able to be sold as food. In fact, the park planned to honor the fish for their holiday efforts after the rink closed. The staff at Space World discussed the morality of the idea before opening the rink, which they hoped would encourage children to have fun while learning about fish. They were planning to hold a memorial service for the fish inviting a Shinto priest, which they had planned before getting criticized and shutting down the rink.
