1. Itzae, a truly exceptional albino puma was born in July 2023 at the Thomas Belt Zoo in Juigalpa, Nicaragua. Her name, meaning "Gift from God" in the Mayan language. With her snowy white fur, pale blue eyes, and lack of melanin due to albinism, she has amazed scientists and visitors alike. Because of her condition, she requires extra care: she is highly sensitive to sunlight and artificial lighting, so flash photography is prohibited to protect her vision. Zoo staff ensures her safety and well-being with a special environment, medical supervision, and a tailored diet. Albino pumas are extremely rare, only four documented cases exist worldwide, and Itzae is the first to be born in captivity in Central America. Do you think this extraordinary wildcat is truly a gift from God?
