A new IPSOS survey for MADD Canada finds more than 90% of Canadians view impaired driving as a serious public safety issue, yet fewer than half think governments are doing enough to tackle it. Strong support exists for requiring passive impairment-detection technology (basically systems built into cars to detect if a driver is too drunk or impaired to drive safely) in all new vehicles, with 80% backing such a law. The results suggest Canadians want stricter action to keep roads safe.
