The few times I've attempted what I describe herein were with a young man involved in the same multi-leveling marketing business in which I was at the time. I meant no animosity toward him but merely wanted to see how well he could lip-read me (as I recall. he had an extremely low hearing capacity, and I'd occasionally use my voice speaking with him). Do you think not speaking as you would nor normally to a deaf/hearing-impaired person is in any way cruel? Yes
