Don't leave a disposable plastic water bottle on your car seat in direct sunlight. The water can act as a magnifying lens, focusing the sun's rays into a heat beam that can scorch or ignite the fabric. I'm not sure, but I am thinking this means only the clear water bottles? Anyhow, it is not safe to drink any water left in a car unless the plastic is from a non-pvc reusable and the temperature in the car is cool or cold. Temperatures of 70-80 degrees in a car can make bacteria multiply rapidly. Have you ever left a clear plastic water bottle in the car?
