I was recently reminded ,in a dream, of one of the more amusing utterances of a sadly late friend of mine. To paraphrase, he said that no adult can say "poop" (in reference to solid human digestive waste) and not sound silly. Do you agree with that assertion?

However silly one may think it sounds to hear adults say "poop," it appears to be the go-to term in increasingly coarse, or at least candid, public discourse about the aforementioned substance and the action whereby it's excreted. have you, as have I, noticed the uptick of the p-word's use in news and entertainment media and elsewhere?

Decades ago in kindergarten, I nearly had my mouth washed out with soap by our teacher for mentioning a peanut butter & poop sandwich, that being an imagining of my often crude uncle/godfather I was quoting. I suspect it would be rare child would be threatened with punishment after talking about such a thing in most any kindergarten classroom nowadays. Do you think I'm correct about that?
