Many invasive plants are still sold as ornamental garden varieties, even though they can escape into natural areas, crowd out native species and disrupt local ecosystems.With Canadian cities beginning to restrict or label invasive plants, advocates are calling for a national approach that would help retailers and gardeners identify which plants could cause harm in their region.
