While listening to Southern soul music music on a recent Saturday, I reminisced how one of my favorite experiences seeing that kind of music live was reviewing a concert by Willie Clayton at a--maybe you've already guessed based on this survey's title?--a bowling alley. Clayton's show isn't the only musical performance I've seen at a bowling alley in the same city, nor in the same location. Have you ever seen a concert in a bowling alley?

A third bowling alley in the same city where I saw the aforementioned music acts, has what looks like quarterly flea market and occasional DJ dance events as well as regularly-scheduled concerts, comedy shows, open mics and other events. This place may not have come to my attention were it not for the online column I author about goings on people can avail themselves to in that city. The next thing at this alley I covered in my writing is a silent disco for which attendees are encouraged to arrive in pajamas.
