Jeanne Louise Calment was a French supercentenarian and the oldest verified person in history, living 122 years and 164 days. Recognized by Guinness World Records, she remains the only verified person to reach ages 120, 121, and 122. Known for her wit and vibrant personality, she reportedly met Vincent van Gogh, appeared in the film Vincent et Moi at 114, and credited her longevity (1875-1997) to olive oil, chocolate, port wine, and nearly a century of smoking. She lived independently until almost 110, witnessed three centuries, and outlived her daughter and grandson. Do you find it's sad that because of such great longevity, she outlived her offspring?
