Leaving Sharp Metal Garden Stakes Uncapped * Consequences: Impalement injuries if someone trips and falls forward into garden beds.-- * Prevention: Place bright plastic safety caps on top of all vertical metal or rebar garden stakes. * Treatment: Do not pull out impaled objects; stabilize object in place; call 911 immediately.--This reminds me of the time a metal stake impaled my leg. I was at my sister's home and she told me I had to play volleyball with her and her family. I didn't want to, but what she said went, so I played. When I ran to get the ball, I tripped and fell and the inner part of my lower leg became impaled on the stake that held the net in place. I still have a big scar from that one. Do you have metal garden stakes or volleyball net stakes in your yard?
