A Pop-up restaurant, also sometimes called a Supper Club, is a temporary restaurant that can open, or "pop up", nearly anywhere. They can be on-going once a week affairs, a one day one-time event or even remain open for months. They typically feature a limited menu or fixe prix dining and have traditionally opened to build a chef's reputation, help woo investors for a future restaurant, make fine dining more accessible to the community on a limited time basis or even raise funds for a social or community group.
1. Before this survey, were you aware of pop-up restaurants?
2. Once referred to as "the raves of the culinary world" due to their nature and strong reliance on word-of-mouth and social media, pop-ups have entered the mainstream and become so popular that even celebrity chefs such as Gordon Ramsay, Marcus Samuelsson and Rene Redzepi of world-renowned Noma have opened pop-ups. If a big name chef opened a pop-up in your area, would you try to dine there?
3. Have you ever been to a pop-up restaurant of any kind?
4. What would make you want to dine at a pop up restaurant?
