I knew right away that it was a Scam, first because I'm Canadian, so I wouldn't qualify for the State of California's WCAB, and because I checked online, what would you have done? Contact them and get my money

I remained calm and played along with her, knowing full well that my friend's facebook account had been hacked, so after I said I'd get in touch with the WCAB, I deleted her and posted a message on my Facebook warning my friends about it, would you have done the same? Yes, warn others
