There recently has been a lot of surveys about spirits and the like. Many people seem fascinated by the idea of ghosts and spirits (and it is a fascinating topic) - but it is very dangerous. In his book, "Out From Darkness: A spiritualist medium escapes Satan's clutches", Ben Alexander, a former spiritualist medium (who actually allowed spirits to use his body in seances - using his ectoplasm (yes, there is such a thing) to form images and take on various shapes) goes into great detail of what took place in the privacy of the seance room and the sometimes terrifying phenomena that became commonplace. He also explains the danger of what he was involved in (there were multiple threats on his life) and the steps he had to take to get out of the dark world of spiritualism.
