1. Have you heard about the two panhandlers in Chicago who are suing the police for "lost wages"?
2. Beggers Kim Pindak and Sam Phillips are alleging that cops have cost them roughly $10/day over the course of 4 years, by forcing them to leave their usual begging spot in Daley Plaza. Do you think they should be "reimbused", so to speak?
3. Chicago has laws against "aggressive panhandling". Pindak and Phillips claim they are not "aggressive", that they simply sit with their signs. Pindak, 63, claims he has to beg in order to supplement the $750/month in disability he receives, $720 of which supposedly goes to his assisted living facility. Do you think people have the right to beg for money?
