1. Back in 2011 my Aunt requested that I complete a family tree for the father of her 2 boys (my cousins). Their dad and grandparents passed, there was no other way to gather info. While doing the research, Fox news aired a story about a man being hunted up the coast in California, wanted for 2 murders. I recognized the name, sure enough the man was a 2nd or 3rd cousin to my cousins; someone they had never met let alone know about. I called my Aunt and she said, don't tell me you found a murderer in the family, and I said, I actually did. Turn on the news. Eventually, snipers from Sacramento came down, found the man walking in the woods. The story is that Aaron approached the shooters and they shot him dead. Do you have a criminal in your family?
I might, but I am not doing my family tree to find out
2. Nevertheless it was a strange time for my Aunt and I, as I did research for her tree, we both followed the story on the news, as the hunt for Aaron took 36 days. Would you have any sympathy for Aaron the shooter?
3. On the brighter side of the research I did, I found that one of my cousin's great uncle was once LAPD Chief of Police. If you have done family research have you found any unique stories that you would be willing to share?
