Results: Fired Hero?

Did you hear about the CVS employee who was fired for trying to stop a robbery?

Joe Morici, an Army vet, was working at CVS in Beltsville, MD as a store manager when two men hopped the pharmacy counter and stole some prescription drugs. Morici told the cashier to call 9-1-1. He then escorted an elderly man out of the store before locking the doors, thereby preventing the thieves from leaving. Morici was able to detain one for a bit, but eventually they were able to get the doors opened manually and escaped. When Morici's boss arrived, he immediately informed him that he had been terminated. Do you think this was fair?

CVS said they could not comment on the procedures and policies in place that led to the firing, because they didn't want to undermine them. Do you think most big companies would fire an employee over something like this?
