I recently cut off a long term friend, I found out they were scamming people on social media. They were posting false hard luck stories in order to get cash. Sadly, a lot of people have been donating money to her. Would you cut off a friend if you knew they were doing this? Yes, I wouldn't want anything to do with them anymore
