Results: The neg hit

The term has been around for a while and the technique even longer. Are you familiar with the terms "neg hit" or "negging"?

In a nutshell, negging is making low-grade insults to a woman in order to undermine her self-confidence and make her more vulnerable to the advances of the person making the neg hits. Example: "Hey, I like that outfit. **pause for her response** Yeah, my (mother/aunt/grandmother) has one just like it!" Have you ever known someone who uses negging?

Neg hitting is mostly considered something guys do in bars. It has been analyzed and over-analyzed. The whole premise of "Negging" is to put a woman off guard, because in theory, attractive women are so used to men fawning over them that someone who actually challenges them will be seen as more interesting. Do you believe that premise?

Do you think it is just a guy thing or that women also use these types of insults to get a guy who is really out of their league?
