I just seen a survey on here about whether we thought kids were more spoiled today then in "our day" or in the past. For me, I do think that maybe kids are a little less well behaved these days, and it is for many different reasons. One of the reasons I believe, just my belief, I have no research or evidence, is that a lot of kids are being raised in a Daycare setting. I apply this thought mainly to families where both parents work and need daycare to do so, but are also able to afford it. Not really to the single working parent who relies on daycare subsidies. Because these kids are essentially being raised by someone other then the parents for a good portion of the day, the parents might feel a sense of guilt and are less prone to be more strict with their kids when they have them because of that guilt. What do you think?

Obviously there are many different factors that can lead to less behaved kids, but do you think my idea has any merit? Can you see similarities between kids growing up in a daycare setting to those that are raised in more affluent households with Nannies and the guilt a parent might feel?
You are way off base.

Maybe this idea has some steam behind it.

I'm sure there must be some research already on this, whether it supports your idea or not.

If you have kids and put them in daycare, do you remember feeling guilt about that and maybe spoiling your kid a little more then you should because of it?

Obviously this is an extreme example and doesn't apply to anyone but the ultra rich, I mostly just wanted a 4th question for a 10 point survey, have you heard of the term Affluenza? Do you remember the story that brought this word to light? https://slate.com/technology/2013/12/ethan-couch-affluenza-defense-critique-of-the-psychology-of-no-consequences.html
