Vietnam is a shopping dream, with many streets devoted to one type of shop exclusively. This makes comparison shopping easy and fun. Vibrant, specialized shopping streets, with key areas being Hanoi's Old Quarter (silk, handicrafts), Ho Chi Minh City's fashion-forward Nguyen Trai Street, and Hoi An's tailor shops abound. Have you ever shopped in a specialized area for something specific?

My favorite of all the streets we visited was Book Street in Ho Chi Minh City - a book lover's paradise in the centre of the city. Officially known as Nguyen Van Binh Book Street, it is lined with charming bookstores, cozy cafés, and lively literary events, and offers a unique escape from the fast-paced rhythm of a busy city. There you are encouraged to read the books, and many cafes allow you to read some of the book before you buy it. Would you like to visit this street?

Vietnam also is famous for its huge markets, where bargaining is encouraged, and deals are everywhere. The most famous one we visited is the iconic Ben Thanh Market, with over 1,500 booths trading wholesale and retail items ranging from food and apparel to fabric and cosmetics. Do you enjoy bargaining for goods?
