In the next survey of this series, I again want to remember those typically forgotten and denied a full life. Oakwood Cemetery is a well-kept cemetery located in Lanett, Alabama and it is home to a dollhouse shaped mausoleum. It is the final resting place of Nadine Earles, (aka Little Nadine) who tragically passed away at the age of four on December 18, 1933, from diphtheria. Her mother and father are also buried in the plot. She asked her dad to build her a doll house unfortunately she died before he was able to finish it. The doll house crypt has all the features of a real house with a mailbox, front porch, striped awnings, and decorations in the Summer and Winter. Inside the house is filled with a collection of toys, dolls, and the memorial stone for little Nadine. Does any of your departed loved ones have an unusual grave marker?
