The Monarch Butterfly is known for its migratory behavior (flying thousands of miles south for winter in California or Mexico mainly). I recently read a novel (it was a best seller) about people studying them in the Carolinas.It is called Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver, published by HarperColins in 2012 in the US if you'd like to read it.
