It weighs only about 3 pounds (1.4 kilograms) and measures around 18 inches long, making it smaller than a typical domestic house cat. It features light brown fur covered in large, irregularly shaped rosettes and a ringed tail. Genetic analysis indicates its lineage diverged from other tiger cats around 1.4 million years ago.
