One Million Moms a division of the American Family Association, has begun to give moms an impact with the decision-makers and let them know they are upset with the messages they are sending our children and the values (or lack of them) they are pushing. Their goal is "to stop the exploitation of our children, especially by the entertainment media (TV, music, movies, etc.). OneMillionMoms.com is the most powerful tool you have to stand against the immorality, violence, vulgarity and profanity the entertainment media is throwing at your children. It is time to fight back!" They particularly target businesses and vehicles that they feel are contrary to their pro-life and pro-family values, and "to motivate and equip citizens to change the culture to reflect Biblical truth". Have you heard about this group?

Recently their latest target is retailer H&M and their new "She's A Lady" campaign. They are especially taking issue with its "skimpy lingerie" and a portion of the ad when two women kiss underwater. They also called out the retailer for including a transgender woman in their campaign, only to take back their outrage when it was revealed that the transgender woman they were upset with was in fact, world famous boxer Fatima Pinto, who is a female and was born a female. The laugh is on them of course, because they completely missed a transgender woman in the ad, Hari Nef of "Transparent" fame! Do you see anything wrong with this campaign?
Absolutely not! It's very empowering

Here are a few of their targets over the past few years, some that were a success and some that were failures. Do you think any of these targets were justified?

One of their campaigns actually backfired. The drama started last December when American Girl magazine featured the inspiring story of 11-year-old Amaya, who, along with her brothers, were adopted from a foster care program by two dads. When One Million Moms got wind that the magazine had featured a "non-traditional" family, it launched an attack against both the American Girl Doll and parent company Mattel, accusing them of promoting the gay agenda. As a result, Amaya, her family, and American Girl received an outpouring of positive national media attention, including coverage by local Fox and NBC affiliates, ABC News, The Washington Post, The Huffington Post, Yahoo, Good Housekeeping, Upworthy, The View, and Ellen DeGeneres, who posted about the family on her show's Facebook page. Plus, as a result of the attention, Amaya's dad's charity Comfort Cases a non-profit charity that provides foster kids with basic necessities like clothing, backpacks, toothbrushes and stuffed animals to help make their transitions into new families a little easier, had their donations triple. So, in fact the Moms did them all a big favor. Don't you like a good story like this?
