Standing at at least 26 inches shoulder height and typically weighing well over 100 lbs., the Tibetan mastiff is known to sell for at least $7,000 per puppy at the low end. In 2014, a Chinese businessman made headlines when he bought a 1-year-old Tibetan mastiff for $1.9 million. "They have lion's blood and are top-of-the-range mastiff studs," the dog's breeder, Zhang Gengyun, said at the time.
