For 12 years Steve Greig had a devoted road buddy. Wolfgang was a red miniature pinscher that accompanied him everywhere. Hikes, kayak trips, weddings, you name it. One fateful day in 2012, Wolfgang was killed by a car, leaving Steve desolate. Have you ever lost a pet?

After mourning for months, Steve decided to go to a shelter and adopt the oldest dog they had. He reasoned that maybe Wolfgang's death would be a little easier to bear if another dog would be allowed to live. His pick was a 12 year old Chihuahua (Eeyore) with a heart murmur and four bad knees. Steve's dark cloud lifted as he recalls "Eeyore's tail wagged a million miles a minute on the way home." Which would you have chosen:

Adopting became his therapy. Steve usually has about nine dogs and makes sure to give them individual attention. If a dog dies, he adopts another. Have you ever adopted from an animal shelter?

In 2023, Steve moved to a historical mansion in Ohio that he's renovating. He happily declared that there's now room for everybody. He co-authored a book called, "The One and Only Wolfgang: From Pet Rescue to One Big Happy Family." Check out his Instagram account with more than a million followers too.
