A dog is man's best friend but when you have to put him down, is it best to get another dog to give you unconditional love & help you with your grief?

This is what I did as soon as I lost my beloved dog & now I have another best friend who shows me unconditional love daily. it's how I literally got over my initial loss. There's so many pets looking for their forever home. Do you agree?
