Amazon gift card
Take surveys and collect rewards from the industry-leading e-commerce website, Amazon.com, Via "amazon gift cards". The more you take or create survey, larger the amazon gift card you earn.

Results: I have done several surveys about my use of TW "Mad Money" to buy stuff. Recent events may soon restrict my consumerism but until then I have decided to go shopping. TW money didn't cover much of my bill this time.

The items in today's survey were purchased for reasons I hadn't anticipated. What I mean is, I wouldn't have had to buy them if the original(s) had performed as expected. Here are the items and the reasons I bought them. If you have had similar experiences, please share.

Pre-shrunk cotton has been around for a long time. I have some REALLY old Kirkland undershirts for when I'm doing dirty or sweaty household chores. They are well worn, no longer white, and are liberally stained. But they are the same size as when I first bought them. Two batches of undershirts purchased since then have shrunk at least 2 sizes and barely cover my navel. My new ones on order are a brand name and a top seller from Amazon. Are these going to shrink too? (if you think they will shrink, can you recommend another brand in the comment section?)

About 3 years ago I bought a 4 in 1 Microwave oven that Air Fries, bakes, microwaves, toasts and a bunch more. I really like it but I seem to be the only family member who triggers an "Error 30" code - a safety measure of some kind that makes the oven sensitive to static charges. If I dampen my hands I can eventually get it to work but sometimes it takes 4 or 5 attempts. I can either stop cooking or get a new brand of microwave and give the "old" one to my daughter. Guess which option(s) my wife picked?

My daughter currently doesn't cook much so my "old but versatile" microwave might encourage her to do more. My wife says get a new one for us and give the old one to my daughter.

I currently doesn't cook much using my "old but versatile" microwave because of this frustrating error code. Either my wife does most of the cooking or she will have to be on hand to push the buttons on the microwave when it won't work for me. My wife says get a new one for us and give the old one to my daughter.

There are some features on the new microwave that my wife likes and we conveniently won some money on a lottery for almost the exact cost of the new microwave. My wife says get the new one for us and give the old one to my daughter.

The old microwave can be persuaded to work eventually and, if my daughter needs a microwave, she and her husband can buy one. We should keep the old one and save the money. My wife is sure to prefer this option.

We got one of these plush blankets from my daughter at Christmas and my wife really likes it. My daughter said that she wished she had one for herself and then the grand-kids piped in with their own requests. Having taken the bait, my wife ordered three of these blankets, and gave them as "see how much grandma loves you" gifts and making the one we got "a perfect gift" - for the manufacturer. Has anyone ever given you a gift that they really wanted for themself?

We started buying our dog food from Amazon on one of those subscription plans, partly because of the convenience of having it shipped to our door and partly because the price was lower than the pet store we previously used. Then, month by month the price started going up, eventually overtaking the pet store price. We switched back to the more stable pet store price. Have you had a subscription plan that actually saved you money (details in comments please)?

The dog food brand above is a US product and prices are likely to rise still further in the coming months. Should we switch to a quality Canadian product such as Performatrin?
  • Yes
  • Maple MAGA
