Dumb waiters are small freight elevators or lifts used to carry food, laundry, or other items from one floor to another. Originally manually-powered with a rope and pulley system, most of today's dumb waiters are powered by electric motors developed in the 1920's.

There are quite a number of films that feature dumb waiters, going all the way back to the 1934 Three Stooges short, "Three Little Pigskins." Have you seen any of these more contemporary presentations that feature dumb waiters?
