Results: Summer fun turned into sudden blues
Summer was okay this year, until a blues truck hit me almost everyday for the last two weeks. I was staying out of the sun, away from political news, watching MLB games, summer musician shows online, soap operas/podcasts, dog podcasts, Pope Leo's regional trips and sometimes doing it all with family or friends. Then in every area I like, bad news, LA Dodger Tommy John died, my dog had emergency splenectomy surgery, Guiding Light's Hayden Panittere & singer-songwriter Bonnie Tyler died, Pope Leo is "fighting" with DJT again, and my family has my great-grandma's feast & birthday, my grandma's feast, and my birthday all one week apart. It was while watching Bonnie's homecoming funeral in Swansea, hearing her songs in the church, and how many people remember, it all hit me. I tried to make this survey as brief as possible, so apologies if it's too long for anyone.

Bonnie Tyler's music and style was part of my childhood and now as an adult I appreciate it more. I've been hearing her songs played on the radio recently, and found out she was starting a tour with her old hits soon. Hearing about her sudden death had a surprise affect on me. Hayden Panietierre was born August 21, 1989, and died August 17, 2026. I knew her as Lizzie Spaudling on GL with long curls, the cutest smile and a soap acting chops. My great-grandma was born August 18, 1896, and died August 21, 1978. That is one week before I was born, and my family tells me every year, my grandma's heart was broken until I was born. She taught me baseball by watching the NY Mets with my grandfather. She showed me soap operas, Guiding Light and Days of our Lives. Ironically she died on August 26, 1995. I'll remember this week in a new way, theirs and Lizzie" Hayden's DODs, and our birthdays. Do you remember Hayden as Lizzie Spaulding on GL?

Tommy John died August 15, 2026 at 83 yo. He was a left-handed pitcher for the NY Yankees in the 1980s, and I cant say I remember him. I watched the NY Mets and LA Dodgers, for which he played before I was born in 1970s. I've heard a lot when players are put on the DL to have "Tommy John surgery" but now I know a little more of the man. Do you remember seeing him pitch for any team?
