At the age of nine, I was awarded a certificate of membership to the Order, by virtue of swimming in a heated, rooftop pool. This pool is located in the Bonaventure Hotel (now a Westin), in Montreal. The outdoor temperature was minus 8 Celsius, while the pool was decidedly warmer and more inviting. We got out and played in the snow, then jumped back in to warm up. Would you swim in a pool like this? Yes
