Seasons
Spring is right around the corner. Some of you have already started seeds to plant after that last frost date. Did you know there are thousands of different types of vegetables? There are. Last year I obtained 150 types of pepper seeds. I wish I had enough room to grow them all. That would be nice. However, I can pick and choose what it is I'd like to grow. The same is with tomatoes, I believe the number I have of those are near 100 types. I'm hoping this survey will inspire some of you to grow some of your own vegetables. Not only can it be fun, but it gives you a sense of accomplishment when you slice that tomato for a sandwich. Might even make you wonder: "What in the world drove me to grow that Super Hot Pepper and then to eat it!" You can grow your own Batavian Escarole (endive) and many other lettuce types as well. Doing so also saves you a good bit of money. Swiss Chard will cost you about $3.99 at the store. Buy a slip of them for $3.00 and have yourself more than a hundred of them! One other thing... Did you know there are people who trades seeds within their own country? As well as outside their country - just make sure if you do so that you are aware of the laws per that country. What's the cost in these types of trades? About as much as buying one pack of seeds. This is how I built up my seed library. Yep, a seed library. Every family should have one. So do yourself some research online if your interested in trading with others within your country. You will find its a very effective way to get seeds of all types. Oh and hey, most trading sites love to help beginners to get started! So check it out. You'll not regret it! Happy planting! Feel free to comment about your garden in the comment section below. What kind of garden setup do you have or would like to have. There are many ways you can make a garden work wherever you live. So don't give up too easy and be discouraged. And tell us about your seed trading experiences. How well did it work out for you. And for all you who would like to trade some seeds... Watch out! You might just get hooked! Good luck to you all!
