Late last year I got a new laptop computer. I was really enjoying it, until the day (just 3 months later) it messaged me that it needed to be plugged in; and it already was. My battery went dead, and I endured 6 days with no internet. My computer tech diagnosed motherboard issues and sent it back to the company I got it from.

Among the things I missed when I had no computer access was Spellcheck. It takes so much longer to look up a word in a dictionary. How long has it been since you looked up a word in a paperback or hardbound dictionary?

I did today.

I really missed having access to Accu Weather on my P/C. Doggy walks can be pretty miserable if you don't dress appropriately. I used the Weather Channel on TV instead. But sometimes I had to wait 10 minutes to see the crawl that ran across the bottom of my TV screen with info about MY area. How do you get your weather forecasts?

After a week, my IT guy provided a loaner P/C. Although It was great to have access to the internet again, I used the computer sparingly, as it was outdated, with some quirks. So for the 4 weeks my P/C was being repaired, I didn't have much of an online presence. What things would you miss most if your P/C went kerflooey (and you didn't have internet on your cell phone)?
