I bought something from Amazon that was made in China and part of the user instructions included using a household appliance we haven't owned in years and didn't use much even then. This got me wondering if TW members still have this particular item and if so still use it. There are other products I am also curious about for similar reasons.

This first one is about the Hawaiian shirts I bought. To reduce packaging they were hermetically sealed and as a result were very wrinkled. A card that came with them suggested I should use my steam iron to get the wrinkles out. I don't have such a thing and haven't needed to iron anything in this century anyway. Do you still iron your clothes?

My 2015 model car has a CD player in it. I don't think it has ever been used. I was given an iPod Nano in 2012 which made my car radio and CD player obsolete almost overnight. I also got rid of all my CDs and transferred all the music on them over to my iPod and still use it today. Do you still have a CD player in your car (or home if you don't have a car) that you actually use?

We still have a hair dryer we bought in the 1990s and, other than using it to shrink the plastic film on our windows in winter or to thaw out a frozen pipe, I don't think we have used it in years. Do you still use a hair dryer for its original purpose - to dry hair?

With enough marketing hype, we can be persuaded to buy almost anything. My daughter persuaded me to buy a crimping iron in the 1990s sometime and it was used regularly for about a week. The only use for it after that was perhaps to make waffles (don't try this at home - we didn't either). Do you still have one of these appliances? Comment about your experience with this hair fryer?
