I am finishing a windshield survey of my city (Windshield surveys are systematic observations made from a moving vehicle. Walking surveys are systematic observations made on foot. Either or both can help you better understand either the community in general or a specific condition or aspect of it.) When checking the fact sheet I found that our tree is the Crepe Maple (inset picture on right) and our flowering plant is Lilac. If you know, are the colors in the same family for your "area tree and plant"?
